The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism in Romania is a specialized body of the central public administration, subordinated to the Government. The Ministry develops and implements strategies, reform solutions of the tourism sector, promotional and development programs, legislation, financing for public authorities and entrepreneurs.
MEET – implements the National Strategy for Development of Tourism, the National Strategy for Development of Ecotourism, the National Strategy for Balneary Tourism Development and it is involved in various projects for the development of tourism destinations in Romania such as: development of the national system for the recognition of ecotourism destinations, development of the network of cultural routes, European Destinations of Excellence - EDEN" Programme, “Best Tourism Villages”, Investment Programme for tourism infrastructure, Promotion of the tourism brand Romania - Carpathians Garden.
In its strategies, the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism aims to develop and promote cultural, pedestrians and long-distance routes, in order to capitalize the cultural and natural heritage, creating a system of voluntary recognition of cultural - tourist routes. The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism is also a member of the extended partial agreement on cultural routes certified by the Council of Europe, promoting and developing the transnational routes crossing our country.
