The City Development Agency Banja Luka, established by the City of Banja Luka in accordance with the Law on the Encouragement of the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of the RS, is a non-profit organisation with legal entity status. Its operations are overseen by the City Assembly and the Mayor. The primary objective of the Agency is to function as a dynamic and responsive unit capable of initiating, proposing, preparing, and implementing development projects in line with current trends and requirements.
Banja Luka, the second-largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, includes the tourism sector as a key component of its City Development Strategy. Consequently, the Agency actively collaborates with other stakeholders to promote tourism. Additionally, the Agency has substantial experience in executing projects across various sectors, primarily focused on the sustainable utilisation of local resources for economic development and employment. These projects are frequently funded by international organisations, particularly the EU. The Agency has served as both Lead Partner and Project Partner in numerous initiatives. Given that a significant portion of Banja Luka's territory is rural and rich in natural and intangible cultural heritage, the Agency seeks to harness these resources to boost employment and economic development in local communities. By engaging these communities in the project, the Agency aims to enhance economic activities, social inclusion, and social innovation.
